In short
- An account is required to use Paceline — your plan is generated on our server, with no offline mode.
- Health data and location are only ever read if you separately opt into the specific feature that needs them.
- We don't sell your data, and there's no advertising or analytics SDK in the app.
- Your data lives with our backend provider (Supabase) and, for subscriptions, Google Play — nowhere else.
What we collect
Account information
Creating an account is required to use Paceline — building your training plan happens on our server and needs you to be signed in, with no offline mode. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with one-tap Google Sign-In. If you sign in with Google, Google processes that sign-in per its own privacy policy; we receive only your email address and Google account ID from it, the same as we'd receive from an email sign-up. Your password (for email sign-up) is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store it in plain text.
Profile and training data
Your running experience level, goals, weight, chosen race and goal time, training schedule preferences, and the training plan we generate for you. If you complete or reschedule a workout, we record that too.
Health and fitness data — optional
If you choose to connect Apple Health or Health Connect, we read your running activities (distance, duration, pace) to match them against your planned workouts. If you separately opt in to recovery insights, we also read your heart-rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate, used only to decide whether upcoming long runs in your plan should be trimmed back. Both are optional and off by default; declining either doesn't affect the rest of the app. We never share this data with anyone.
Location — optional
If you use the race-week readiness brief (a Paceline Pro feature) and tap its weather-forecast prompt, the app requests your device's approximate location — rounded to about 1.1 km before it ever leaves your device — and sends it to our weather-data provider, Open-Meteo, to fetch a forecast for race day. We don't store this location, use it for any other purpose, or request it anywhere else in the app. If you decline or never tap that prompt, no location data is ever read or sent.
Subscription and purchase status
If you subscribe to Paceline Pro, we verify your purchase with Google Play's Developer API and store whether you have an active subscription. We don't receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Google Play Billing.
Notifications
If you enable them, reminder notifications for a missed long run are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. We don't use a push-notification service, and no notification content is sent to or through our servers.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- Create and maintain your account.
- Generate and adjust your training plan.
- Sync your profile and plan across your devices.
- Fetch a race-day weather forecast, if you ask for one.
- Verify and grant Paceline Pro subscription access.
- Show you reminders you've asked for.
We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or rent your data to any third party.
Where your data is stored
Your profile and plan data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, which hosts our database and authentication. Supabase acts as our data processor and doesn't use your data for its own purposes.
Third parties
We share data with the following third parties, only as needed to provide the app's functionality:

We don't share your data with advertisers, analytics networks, or any other third party, and there's no advertising or analytics SDK in the app.
Your choices and rights
- You can decline or later disconnect Apple Health / Health Connect access, and separately decline or revoke recovery-insights consent, at any time from the app's Profile → Health section.
- You can decline the race-week weather forecast's location request at any time it's asked; it's never required to use the app.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at deltakernellabs@gmail.com.
Children's privacy
Paceline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
